Our Worship Leader: Nicole Mitchell
Nicole grew up with a deep love of music but it wasn't until Jesus took hold of her life at the age of 19 when she fully understood why and how her music was to be used.
Since 2003, Nicole has been a "student of worship", growing and expanding in her knowledge and abilities as a leader in worship. A few highlighted experiences include; serving as the Arts Coordinator for a Halifax-based ministry called Weathervane, planning and leading a worship event called Encounter, managing a youth band as well as facilitating worship experiences for church groups both large and small.
Nicole lives in Stewiacke NS where her husband pastors and where they raise their four children.

Our Speaker: Hannah Montgomery

Hannah is an assistant pastor at Central Church in Edinburgh and is committed to seeing people’s lives transformed by Jesus. A graduate of theology from Edinburgh University, Hannah is a gifted teacher of God’s word and longs to see the truth, love and kindness of Jesus permeate every sphere of culture and society. She is passionate about seeing people released and equipped in their giftings to serve the church, the city and the nation. Hannah is married to Tom and they live in Edinburgh with their two small children. She loves poetry, people, long beach walks and lady grey tea.

LIFT Retreat - Sept 21-23, 2018

Update for 2018

The LIFT Retreat has been about refreshment through inspiration and fun...and there will be some of that ...for sure!!

But this year, LIFT will have a different focus.  We are aiming for a Gathering

that will fan the flame of purpose and destiny in each woman's life,

an event that will provide ‘LIFT off’ for a DEEPER walk with God

that can eventually lead you to fulfilling Matthew 28:19,

"Go and make disciples of all nations...."

There will be worship, testimony, practical exercises, large group teaching, and a chance to process through what God is saying to you personally in small groups.

One foundation of life as a disciple of Jesus is understanding our identity in Christ.

Jo Saxton in her new book, The Dream of You writes:

“Your understanding (or mis-understanding) of your identity will define your sense of purpose and your contribution to the world.  It will tell you whether to value your talents or believe you have nothing to offer. What you believe about your identity will tell you whether you share your dreams and live as a woman directed by vision and mission, or whether to hide your dreams away believing they are pointless.  It’s impossible for you, me or anyone else to live beyond what we believe to be true about ourselves.”

The Saturday morning focus will be on our identity as disciples of Jesus. Not to be missed.

Saturday afternoon our speaker will lead us with teaching and exercises on ‘hearing the voice of God.’

Cath Livesey in her book, My Sheep Have Ears writes:

“Discipleship is at the very heart of our Christian faith.  The call on our lives is not simply to believe in Jesus but to follow Him as disciples.  And we can only consistently and effectively follow him if we learn to recognize His voice and respond with obedience.”

And another quote from this amazing book:

“The more I read the Bible the more I become convinced that an absolutely fundamental part of our spiritual inheritance as Christians is that we can learn to hear and identify the voice of God. I’m not talking about hearing God through the words of Scripture, as precious and necessary as that is, (and I want to be clear I have never heard the audible voice of God) but about hearing his ‘now’ words to us, words that speak directly and into our current, specific reality…”                           Not to be missed X 2!

Hannah Montgomery will be our speaker at LIFT Event.  She is an Associate Pastor at Central Church in Edinburgh, Scotland.  Why Hannah? She comes as an experienced discipler, speaker and facilitator from a church that has been empowering women and men as disciples and disciple makers for many years. Two of her favorite topics to share on are identity and hearing God’s voice.

How did we connect with Hannah?  Sue Demmons is the link. Sue will share on Friday night her journey of being discipled, then discipling others and being called to bring a discipling theme to LIFT. Catch the vision.

There will be two options for taking in the Gathering. There will be the camp option...the best deal! A two- night stay from Friday evening till Sunday after lunch. For those who prefer a one- day option, this is available. Arrive Saturday at 9:30am ready to dive into the sessions and stay for lunch and dinner (and Saturday Night Live) before you head home.
